Label info: ‘Craft brewed in the true Belgian witbier style using 50/50 wheat and barley malts. Late kettle additions of dried curacao and coriander, and fresh yeast added prior to bottling, produces this naturally cloudy ale of distinction. Bottle conditioned’.

What the label really means: I like to think I’m a little more informed than my first review of a Wicked Elf beer a couple of years back and really appreciate this description. This description sounds so very enticing. It sounds fresh and good.

Label: This is my second beer reviewed from The Little Brewing Company, and their labels are all remarkably similar. So, I’ll re-post my label review from the previously reviewed Wicked Elf Pale Ale, minus half a point for lack of originality:
‘I really like this label. The Wicked Elf character they use looks mischievous and fun, and reminds me a little of the Green Goblin from the Spiderman franchise – this alone gets extra points from me. I do wish however that the elf was larger. I want to see more of the little sucker – perhaps attacking a unicorn or other mythical beast.
I like the fact they have stuck to minimal colours and used an old-style script to make it look like it has been around for decades’.

I give it a label rating of 6.5 out of 10.

AROMA:  A very delicious wheaty, citrus, and musk flavoured aroma. 

Taste: GLASS – A delicious all-mouth citrus strengthened wheat beer. It’s very smooth, very easy to drink and very enjoyable. One of the most enjoyable witbiers I have sampled.

I give it a beer from glass rating of 8 out of 10.

Taste: BOTTLE – Very, very similar in taste to drinking this from the glass but with the added coolness of holding a great looking label in your paws.

I give it a taste from bottle rating of 8 out of 10.

Song of choice: Try this alongside Josh Ritter’s ‘The Curse‘

Accompanying food: Something hot and spicy like a Thai curry or peppered Vietnamese beef (hi to Uncle Van if he’s reading this! Love ya buddy!) would really suit this drop beautifully.

Best season to appreciate: Definitely a Summer brew. It’s refreshing, it’s easy to drink. it’s destined for a warm afternoon in the sun.

All-nighter beer? Yes please.
